Three things about myself

  • I am blessed to live in Bangalore, the garden city of India.

Questions given to me

 1.  Life without challenges is listless; is not it so?

Yes, I do agree that we need challenges in our life to grow.

Sometimes, when faced with challenges, we feel overwhelmed and wonder how we will ever resolve them.  With time, we grow and later say to our friends and family, “I never knew I had such strength within me.”

When I was young and complained about my struggles to my father, he said to me, “Don’t say I have problems, say I welcome challenges.” Each challenge is an opportunity to grow.  Thank you for this question! 🙂

2.  Is not ego our own enemy?

Wise people through time, scriptures across the world and our own experience teaches us that love is the highest vibration in the universe.  It is a sweet expansive feeling of connection and togetherness.  When we forget ourselves, we feel this love and bliss.  Be it loving a partner or spouse, a baby in our arms, our friends and neighbors, nature or God.

The sweetness of this love comes only because there is no ego – we melt in our beloved.  When the ego raises its head, we start thinking, “I gave so much, but got so little.”  We calculate and fall down into a deep abyss of negativity.

So indeed, it is true, the entire world can be our friend, but if our ego makes an appearance, we ourselves contract our hearts and become our own enemies.

3. What are the benefits of being humble?

Thank you for this question.  When we are humble we are our true natural selves.  What is this true self?  It is being simple and accepting ourselves.  We neither want to show off and be proud nor do we want to put ourselves down in a self-deprecatory way.

True humility arises when we do not seek to compare ourselves to others.  In that space of true humility, I feel we design our lives in harmony with the entire universe, offering ourselves with peace and love to all of creation.

What can be more joyful than that? It is the fulfillment of our existence. I pray to be humble in this way and a pure instrument of this universe in my life. Thank You! :
