You smile as a child
As you jump from lap to lap
Mommy to daddy
Aunt, uncle, Grand daddy.

His goodnight stories
And funny jokes
You miss them one day
He disappears

“Don’t cry honey, Grandpa is in heaven.”
Your mother whispers.

Time steals life
And your dad is a Grandpa now.

‘Don’t cry Mommy, Grandpa is in heaven.”
Your daughter whispers.

The clock is relentless.
It is my turn next.

Am I ready?

  5. Oh my goodness krishna. I have been thinking about this a lot lately too, and talking with my priest about this journey into eternity that I know will come soon. Mit is awesome isn’t it. What a beautiful poem mrishna. Presented in an original way. I really LOVE this one

    1. Wow! i am so touched reading your words here Lorraine. Our scriptures really emphasize chanting the name of God – especially in your last minute. It’s hard to do it in the last minute, if we are not doing it in the other minutes of our life. Don’t know if this makes any sense to you?

    1. Your words are so beautiful and profound. Our scriptures also say that time and space are illusion. Sometimes i feel eternity in the moment – the universe in my heart where time dissolves. But not always, to be truthful. And then i guess i wonder if i am doing enough – enough for what? To be one with eternity – with whom i am already one! Lol 🙂 Thank you for helping me with this…i feel so blessed to read your words here. 🙂

      1. I feel so close to you on this path! Yes, we seek oneness witht he One with whom we are already one…but I believe we are also called to touch others by reflecting Love, bringing Light to their experience…even if we know it only imperfectly. You do this for me with your words, and your sweet company!
